Welcome!

The Garden Club of Ellijay is a member of The Laurel District; The Garden Club of Georgia,Inc.; The Deep South Region and National Garden Clubs, Inc.

For 17 years, The Garden Club of Ellijay has been active in beautifying the community and instilling a love of gardening. We have a diverse membership of all ages and backgrounds, from beginners to quite experienced gardeners. Our mission is the same as that of The Garden Club of Georgia: Beautification, Conservation and Education.

We are a working club that keeps very busy with a plant sale in the spring and a summer flower show. Daytrips are scheduled throughout the year to public and private gardens.

We are very proud to have members who hold positions on The Garden Club of Georgia, Inc. Board and the Laurel District Board. We also have four Accredited Flower Show Judges and fourteen Georgia Master Gardeners.

Our contribution to the community is extensive, with regular donations to the Ellijay Community Food Pantry, Christmas gifts for several families in need, scholarships, library landscaping, and scenic wildflowers along the highway. Plans are underway to erect a Blue Star Marker. A Junior Garden (Youth Club) was formed in September of 2007. Our major project for 2007 was the Trail of Tears marker erected on Highway 515.
